Friday Five: 5 Favorite Products

So I have tried a few whitening products that worked but I have not seen progress as fast as I did with these strips. If you look up at the pictures, you can see a whitening scale I used (I got from a kit I bought from my dentist). I used the strips three times this week and went from a D2 to a B1. I skipped a day in between because of some sensitivity, but nothing major. I was super impressed with the strips and will definitely be my go to! And should I mention wayyyy cheaper than professional ones that you get from the dentist. Side note: The first time I tried white strips a few years ago, my teeth were super sensitive after one try. Once I got married I started using this toothpaste that my husband used for years. I hated it at first because it wasn't as sweet as the one I was used to, but I ran out of mine, and used it a few times and got used to it.  The next time I tried the strips (over a year later) I was dreading it because I remembered how sensitive my teeth were after. I was surprised at how little they hurt, if at all, so I totally believe the toothpaste does wonders!

I use this mascara for the white tube (primer) before applying the mascara I use you'll read about on #3. The first time I used eyelash primer was with this Dior one. I loved it and will never use mascara without a primer since I tried it. It makes such a difference! Of course, I wasn't in love with the price because I went through the tube pretty quick since I used it everyday so I heard about this primer and it does the job just as well. It is currently on sale for buy one get one 50% off, so stock up!

So, before I go on and on about how absolutely amazing this mascara is, I know it is a little on the pricey side, but I promise it is worth every penny! I have been using it for about a year and no matter what mascara I use whether designer or not, it doesn't compare. I first tried it because they were having a makeup sale at Nordstrom, buy two get one free, and went for a eyelash primer I wanted to try. I asked one of the ladies if she had mascara that gave the best volume and length and she showed me this YSL one and I was in love ever since! I have read reviews that it is a little dry during application, I have to agree (compared to others I've tried)... but it doesn't bother me. It also doesn't smear or flake for me and is also easy to get off. If you are looking for a less expensive one that I also love you can find it here. I used this one for years. I love the brush and it applies to nice, it just flakes a bit for me.

Where are my chapstick girls at?! I absolutely love these chubby sticks and have them in seven shades. I use them all the time! It goes on super smooth and thin like lip balm while still giving a good amount of color. It is also super moisturizing, so it doesn't dry out your lips like a lot of lipsticks do.

I have tried a few dry shampoos before trying this one and this was a game changer. First of all, it smells delicious and second, it really works! Depending on how I style my hair, I can go a week without washing my hair if I use this dry shampoo (don't judge me haha! It came in handy when I was working 60 hours a week!). I even use it after a good gym sweat session and you can't even tell that I was at the gym. It does go on a little white depending on how much I put on, but I usually use it at night and it is absorbed by the time I wake up. If I need to use it right away, like after a gym session, I spray enough on and just brush it through my hair until it is all absorbed.

Hope you guys enjoy these Friday Five's just as much as I do! I would love to hear in the comments below if you have any suggestions for Friday Five posts! Also, follow along on Instagram.... We're going somewhere exciting!

White Summer Dresses

DRESS: Old Navy | SHOES: Just Fab (two years ago) similar here and here  | SUNGLASSES: Tom Ford | BAG: Prada | Lips: Clinique (whopping watermelon)

I'm going to be honest, I have not been a huge fan of Old Navy the past year or two. They have cute classy clothes, but for some reason they never fit as good on me as other stores I shopped at. I decided to go in two weeks ago and fell in love! I ended up with a huge haul of cute summer dresses and fitness clothes that were on major sale! (You can see some of my fitness finds on this blog post) Now, I apologize in advance... I can not find this exact dress online anywhere, but they are still in several stores and part of the sale (sorry!) I decided to go ahead and post this look because it is so easy to recreate with any white dress! I love the white paired with nude shoes and a nude bag. It gives it such a clean, feminine look. I also love the slight pop my pink lipstick gives.

I did find a ton of other white dresses that are on sale and are very similar to this dress
So many of these dresses are less than $20 and can be worn into fall with a cardigan/blazer.

Finest Playa Mujeres, Mexico Review

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed I did a little sneak peek of Finest Playa Mujeres, a resort we went to last year. As we were booking this year's vacation, we couldn't help but compare everything to this resort, and our honeymoon resort, which set the standards super high for us. I decided to do a little blog review on last year's resort for anyone that may be looking for a getaway soon! Also, keep scrolling to the bottom....there is currently a special deal going on! Enjoy!

Finest Playa Mujeres is an all-inclusive resort with a private beach. The resort is fairly new, we went just a few months after it opened and we were blown away by the service and how gorgeous everything was! It is a quick 25 minute ride from the airport. The resort in general is not specifically adults only, but the resort and beach is separated in a way where you don't run into kids at the pool and beach if you want the true adults only experience. Also, there is a specific package "excellence club" that is specifically for adults. It included access to certain bars, pool, and restaurants that were specifically for those members and a seperate building for the rooms. Our room was super spacious and the view was gorgeous! We actually got that package and I am so glad we did because the adult only restaurant, the Bistro, was my absolute favorite and had brunch there just about every day!
So there are restaurants for literally anything you're craving... I won't go into detail on each restaurant you can check that out here, but we loved the food at every restaurant! Room service and pool/beach service is also included which makes it super convenient if you just want to take it easy. Also, there were bars in every corner. I think we had fruity drinks/smoothies every thirty minutes haha! Also, get ready for it.... theres a coffee/ice cream/pastry shop! I just about died when we found it! One more thing you should know before we move on to activities.... be sure to check the dress code of each restaurant for the time of day (I would look before so you know what to pack, men in particular). There are no reservations, but there were waiting lists so I highly recommend getting your name on the list of the restaurant you want to go to. We did this a few times after the beach before we got ready. We noticed we had to wait for seats more on the weekend when it was a bit more crowded at the resort, just a heads up!
I loved this resort because you could never get bored, but you could find a place to relax if you wanted to. There were plenty of secluded areas all over the beach/resort if you like the quiet. There were also so many activities during the day like games, costume dancers, musicians, etc. Near the pool there was chess, pingpong, billiard, volleyball and lots of water activities that were included such as snorkeling, kayaking, sailboats, paddle boarding and some motor activities that were for a charge. There were also so many excursions to choose from. We did one where you took a boat across the ocean to Isla Mujeres to snorkel and ride a golf cart around the island. I highly recommend it! The water at Isla Mujeres was absolutely breathtaking and it was so fun exploring the little town for the day. Also, they various night time themes such as a white party, fiesta, and concerts.
I hope this helped give you a little idea of what the resort is like and possibly a destination for an upcoming vacay, you'll love it! If you are interested in going there is actually a promo going on for up to 35% off certain dates so jump on it! Also, if you have any other great vacation spots I would LOVE to hear in the comments below! My husband and I are always looking for a new place to explore!

Friday Five: 5 Go-To Workouts

TANK: Old Navy (only $10!) SHORTS: Old Navy SHOES: Nike Free Run 5.0 (last year's style)

For today's Friday Five, I wanted to share my favorite go-to workouts to get my body moving. (I am far from an expert! These are just a few of my favorite workouts at the moment that I thought you would love to try)

1. Bikini Body Guide by Kayla Itsines
This has been my go-to workouts for about a year. I found the program through Instagram and after seeing the results from other girls that did the program on @kaylaitsines, I had to give it a try. A week in the program basically consists of three days/week of resistance training with and without weights, HITT (high interval strength training), LISS (low interval strength training) and a rest day. There is a BBG 1.0, BBG 2.0, and BBG 3.0 version.  I could not believe the results I got from using the program not only physically but mentally. When I first started the program, I could not even do a few push ups without having to take a break. Now I can get through the circuit without having to stop every few seconds. The program comes in an ebook and app. I love the app because it is so easy to use, you can easily track your progress, do your workouts, get meal plans, and chat with other BBG girls all in one place. You can see more info on her website.

2. Barre Class
I am going to jump the gun on this one, but I absolutely LOVE booty barre. Today was actually the first time I ever tried the class at my gym and it was just about the best workout class I've ever done. I heard so many good things about barre classes and finally pushed myself to go today and I am so glad I did! You are basically a ballerina for about an hour or in my case and hot, struggling, sweaty one haha! But the workouts consist of a combo of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. You basically try to balance yourself while you contract a specific region of muscle.... all the secret ones that you didn't know existed until you feel the burn! You use a barre, ball, weights and mat during the workout for all kinds of variety in the workout. And did I mention, you're barefoot! Look for "barre class" in your area or gym, and I am telling you you will love it!

3. Blogilates
I found out about Blogilates a few years ago through a friend of mine. I love Pilates and used to attend classes religiously, but I started school and got busy and never made time to go to the classes. It consists of a ton of workouts created by Cassey Ho (who it so funny and entertaining) on YouTube. Most of the videos are conveniently short but you totally feel the burn. I fell in love with her workouts and it became convenient for me to do really quick at home in between studying/classes. I love her videos because you can look for workouts specific for arms, legs, abdomen, you name it and she's got a bunch to choose from. You can check out her workouts on her website or YouTube channel.

4. Elliptical
My favorite cardio routine at the moment is on the elliptical. I used to hate cardio in all aspects. I wanted to love it and be one of those runners that you see on the street that run like ten miles a day, but could never really get into it. For some reason, I now look forward to the elliptical and try to challenge myself every time I use it. I usually do 30 minutes on the machine and give it all I have the second I turn it on. I have the incline all the way up and resistance half way up on the scale. I used to only be able to put the resistance to level one or two, but have increased it every few times I use the machine to keep pushing myself. Now here's the hard part that gets that heart pumping.... I don't use my hands. With such a high incline it is hard to keep your balance without holding on to the handles, but if you keep your core super tight you have balance and an extra challenge!

5. Get Moving!
That's right, move it! Park towards the end of the parking lot for a longer walk inside the store, use the stairs instead of elevator if you can, walk around the room a few times if you have to sit at your desk all day, ride a bike, go for a walk or run, do a few squats when you have to pick something off the floor.... get that heart pumping and those muscles moving!

Hope this gave you a few workout ideas! Let me know what 5 things you would love to hear about next Friday in the comments below! XO

High Waisted Stripes

SKIRT: JCrew Factory (on sale!) TOP: Zara (highly recommend this staple piece) SHOES: Jeffery Campbell BAG: Chanel Boy Bag BRACELET: Aldo WATCH: Michael Kors

This is hands down one of my favorite outfits on the blog so far! I am just obsessed with this high waisted striped skirt! First of all I love that it has stripes. Second of all.... it has stripes. Haha totally kidding but we all know my love for stripes by now! It also has pockets and if you look closely, it has this really cute ruffle detail at the waist which gives it a really feminine touch. Also if you look really close you can see rain drops. We had nothing but rain for a good week straight not too long ago and didn't want to miss the opportunity to shoot this outfit. It was actually so refreshing being in the rain; I don't think I did that since I was a little kid!

As far as the accessories, I am not usually a fan of black and navy together, but for some reason I loved the way this bag looked with the outfit out of all the bags I tried. It also made me realize that I don't have a nude bag when I tried to find something that matched these shoes (hint hint husband! haha jk!) So I guess the search is on! What are your favorite bags at the moment? Would love to hear in the comments below!
